Danny Valencia has seen this all before. Buehrle pitched four-hit ball into the eighth inning and Tyler Flowers drove in two runs as the Chicago White Sox beat the Minnesota Twins 3-0 Monday night in a game played in a brisk 2 hours, 4 minutes. Buehrle (11-6) pitched around two walks in 7 2-3 innings and struck out four.

Michael Pineda put together another solid outing, flashing the stuff and command that earned him an All-Star appearance in his first season in the majors. Pineda went six innings, allowing just two runs and three hits while striking out eight. Unfortunately for the Seattle Mariners, Chicago’s John Danks was better.

Charlie Furbush at least feels familiar being in a starting rotation and knowing he’ll be going out to the mound on a regular basis. Now comes finding some consistency to prove he can be part of the Seattle Mariners’ future plans as one of their starters. Furbush struggled through five innings on Friday night in Seattle’s 4-2 loss to the Chicago White Sox.
