The Chicago White Sox had problems on Monday night in the Big Apple as they took on the New York Yankees. The Sox were doubled up as they lost the game by the score of 4-2. This sure was a tough loss for the White Sox as they are in a playoff battle with the Minnesota Twins.

Mark Buehrle got the start for the sox and lasted six innings. He did give up six hits and two runs including one home run. Ehren Wassermann and Horacio Ramirez both gave up one run in relief as they allowed the Yankees to win the game.

Dewayne Wise provided the only offense for the sox as he hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning to tie the game.

Tough loss for the Sox and they now need to pick up a win on Tuesday.

The Chicago White Sox scored 14 runs in the games first five innings and went onto beat up on the Seattle Mariners by the score of 15-3. The White Sox absolutely dominated the entire series as they sweep the Mariners. On Wednesday the Sox used four home runs to finish up the Mariners and the series.

Ken Griffey Jr, A.J. Pierzynski, Nick Swisher, and Alexei Ramirez all went deep in the game. Pierzynski, Griffey Jr., and Ramirez all finished the game with three rbi each while Swisher and Juan Uribe finished with two. Paul Konerko finished with one rbi as well as he didn’t want to be left out.

Gavin Floyd improved to 13-6 as he picked up the win after tossing six inning and holding the Mariners to three runs on six hits. Floyd struckout seven and walked one batter while giving up one home run. Horacio Ramirez pitched a scoreless seventh inning before Adam Russell pitched the final two scoreless innings.

It was a great series for the White Sox who swept the series just like they needed to. The Sox are one game up on the Minnesota Twins and they will be off until Friday when they take on the Tampa Bay Rays.

The Chicago White Sox are back in first place after they blew out the Seattle Mariners 13-5 on Monday night. With the win and the Twins losing to the A’s 3-2, the White Sox find themselves back in first place and they hope to stay there the rest of the season.

The White Sox offense got going in the second inning when they scored three runs. Paul Konerko had a rbi single which was then followed by a Nick Swisher two run home run. The sox would not score again until the fifth inning when they would push across six runs. Orlando Cabrera had a two run home run and then Jermaine Dye added a two run double. Dye’s double was followed up by rbi singles from Swisher and Alexei Ramirez. Ramirez wasn’t done at the plate however as he added a three run home run in the seventh inning. Carlos Quentin then went deep in the eighth inning for the sox final run of the game.

Mark Buehrle improved to 11-10 on the year as he pitched 5 2/3 innings to get the win. Buehrle didn’t throw the ball that good as he gave up 11 hits and five runs. Luckily for him, the offense had the bats going to score enough runs so it really didn’t matter. D.J. Carrasco and Horacio Ramirez pitched the final 3 1/3 innings to hold the Mariners at five runs.

The Chicago White Sox finished off the Kansas City Royals in a three game sweep with 9-2 victory on Thursday afternoon. The sox used a six run sixth inning when they hit back-to-back-to-back-to-back home runs and blew the game wide open. The four home runs were all hammered hard as the Sox really got the bats going and said bye bye to the Royals.

Jim Thome, Paul Konerko, Alexei Ramirez, and Juan Uribe were the four plays to hit home runs in the sixth inning. Thome finished the game with three total rbi while Jermaine Dye chipped in with two runs batted in.  It a great showing by the offense in the game and we can only hope that it will continue over into the weekend series against the Oakland A’s.

Lance Broadway pitched 5 1/3 innings to pick up the win and is now 1-0 on the year. Broadway gave up five hits and two runs but kep the team in the game until the offense came to the rescure in the sixth inning. Horacio Ramirez, D.J. Carrasco, and Adam Russell all threw out of the bullpen and they all did a good job.

The sox just need to keep on winning and things will take care of themselves. I like their chances this weekend out in Oakland so hopefully after the weekend the team will be up in the division by a couple of games over the Twins.
