The Chicago White Sox finished off the Kansas City Royals in a three game sweep with 9-2 victory on Thursday afternoon. The sox used a six run sixth inning when they hit back-to-back-to-back-to-back home runs and blew the game wide open. The four home runs were all hammered hard as the Sox really got the bats going and said bye bye to the Royals.

Jim Thome, Paul Konerko, Alexei Ramirez, and Juan Uribe were the four plays to hit home runs in the sixth inning. Thome finished the game with three total rbi while Jermaine Dye chipped in with two runs batted in.  It a great showing by the offense in the game and we can only hope that it will continue over into the weekend series against the Oakland A’s.

Lance Broadway pitched 5 1/3 innings to pick up the win and is now 1-0 on the year. Broadway gave up five hits and two runs but kep the team in the game until the offense came to the rescure in the sixth inning. Horacio Ramirez, D.J. Carrasco, and Adam Russell all threw out of the bullpen and they all did a good job.

The sox just need to keep on winning and things will take care of themselves. I like their chances this weekend out in Oakland so hopefully after the weekend the team will be up in the division by a couple of games over the Twins.

The Chicago White Sox finished up a three game series against the Texas Rangers in dramatic fashion as they came from behind to beat the Rangers 10-8.  It was a big three run home run in the 8th inning by Carlos Quentin that was the game winner for the White Sox.  They were down 8-7 until Quentin went deep for his 26th home run.

The 8th winning home run wasn’t Quentin’s only home run in the game however as he also hit a solo shot in the 5th inning.  Jim Thome had three rbi as he got the White Sox on the scoreboard with a three run blast in the first inning.  Orlando Caberea, Jermaine Dye, and Alexei Ramirez all chipped in with one rbi each as well.

White Sox starting pitcher Clayton Richard was rocked for seven hits and five runs in only four innings of action.  Richard struckout seven batters in only four innings but also gave up a home run and walked one batter.  D.J. Carrasco gave up one run while Boone Logan gave up two runs in relief of Richard.  Finally Octavio Dotel and Bobby Jenks were able to get things under control as the White Sox held on for the win.

Dotel ended up getting the win and is now 4-4 while Jenks picked up the save which was his 19th.  It was nice to see Jenks come in and pick up the save as he rejoined the team off the disabled list.

The White Sox will have a big series this weekend against the Detroit Tigers. Hopefully you can catch some of the games!  White Sox Baseball

The Chicago White Sox scored five unanswered runs and came back to beat the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday night by the score of 8-7.  Mark it up as another come from behind win for the White Sox.  It seems the White Sox have had so many of these come from behind wins this season.

Carlos Quentin went 2-3 with two home runs and four rbi to lead the White Sox at the plate.  Quentin is now up to 21 home runs and 65 rbi on the season as he has been a big suprise for the team.  Jim Thome and Alexei Ramirez both added rbi for the team as well in the game.

Adam Russell recorded one out in the seventh inning and ended up picking up the win.  Octavio Dotel picked up his first save of the year as he in the closers role now that Bobby Jenks was placed on the disabled list.

White Sox starting pitcher Javier Vasquez was rocked for 11 hits and six runs in only 5 2/3 innings of action.  I know the White Sox are used to getting a better performance out of Vasquez so they are lucky to come away with the win in my opinion.

The White Wox will now be going for the sweep in the three game series on Thursday.  Mark Buehrle will take the mound for the Sox.  White Sox Blog

It was an up and down game for the Chicago White Sox as they got up by seven runs and then had to hold off the Cleveland Indians in the ninth inning for the 9-7 victory.  The Indians sure made things interesting in the ninth inning as they scored three runs.  Oh well, a win is a win and I was the White Sox continued to swing the bats good.

Nick Swisher hit two home runs and finished the game with five rbi for the White Sox.  Swisher has now hit 11 home runs in season.  Jim Thome also hit a home run which was a three run shot in the first inning.  Jermaine Dye didn’t want to be left out and also had one rbi in the game.  I like the fact that the White Sox were able to keep a lot of pressure on the Indians through out the game.  Anytime you do that, you are going to score a lot of runs and more then likely going to win.

Gavin Floyd tossed six innings and pitched well enough to get the win and improve his record to 9-4.  Floyd gave up seven hits and let four runs cross the plate while walking two and striking out ten batters.

Nick Masset was charged with three runs in the ninth inning other then that the bullpen did a pretty good job.    Octavio Dotel pitched one scoreless inning before Masset sucked it up in 1 2/3 innings of action.  Matt Thornton gave up one hit and let a run score (run was charged to Masset) before recording the final out of the game.

The Chicago White Sox finished off the Pittsburgh Pirates with a 13-8 victory on Thursday afternoon.  With the nice 13-8 win, the White Sox swept the Pirates in their three game interleage series.  I don’t think Pittsburgh will ever want to come back to Chicago the way they have gotten beat by the White Sox and the Cubs.

Gavin Floyd earned the win for the White Sox and is now 8-3.  Floyd didn’t have his best stuff but it was enough to pitch  5 2/3 innings.  Floyd allowed six hits and seven runs in the game.  He did allow one home run while striking out six batters and walking two.

Matt Thornton, Octavio Dotel, and Scott Linebrink all pitched well after Floyd left the game.  However in the ninth inning, relief pitcher Adam Russell gave up two hits and one run before finally getting the last out of the game.

Jermaine Dye went 3-6 with two home runs and six rbi to lead the White Sox at the plate.  It was a monster performance out of Dye as you can see with his six rbi and two home runs.  Orlando Cabrera also swung a good bat as he had a three run home run and a sacrafice fly to finish with four rbi in the game.  Jim Thome, Pablo Ozuna, and Alexei Ramirez all finished the game with one rbi each.

Good hitting, and just enough pitching got the White Sox past the Pirates.  Now they can sit back and relax until tomorrow afternoon when they start up the heated rivalry with the Cubs.  The Cubs do have to fly back to Chicago after their game tonight with the Tampa Bay Rays so they just might be a little tired tomorrow afternoon.

Everything was rolling the way it should for the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday night.  The White Sox got eight strong innings out of Mark Buehrle and then put eight runs on the scoreboard to defeat the Pittsburgh Pirates by the score of 8-2.  The White Sox are now up 2-0 in the three game series.

Buehrle pitched eight innings and only gave up four hits and two runs.  It was a very good outing by Buehrle who finally got some run support and a victory.  He is now 4-6 on the season.  Bobby Jenks came in and pitched the ninth inning to get some work done and after giving up a lead off single got two groundballs that ended the game.

Toby Hall, Carlos Quentin, and Brian Anderson all hit home runs for the White Sox.  Hall’s was a two run home run while the other two were solo shots.  Hall and Nick Swisher finished the game with two rbi.  Quentin, Anderson, and Jim Thome had one rbi in the game as the White Sox got a lot of productivity out of the lineup.

So now can the White Sox get the sweep with a victory on Thursday?  Leave us a comment and let us know what you think!

The Chicago White Sox got off to a good start as they took on the Tampa Bay Rays Thursday night in the beginning of a four game series.  The White Sox were able to beat the Rays 5-1 as they out hit the Rays 11-7.

Paul Konerko and Joe Crede both hit home runs for the White Sox.  Both were solo shots in the sixth and eighth innings.  Carlos Quentin continued to hit the ball very good as he added another rbi for the White Sox.  Orlando Cabrera and Jim Thome also had one rbi for the Sox as they had a blanced scoring attack.

John Danks tossed six inning and allowed six hits and one run to pick up the win for the White Sox.  Danks is now 4-4 on the season.  He really tossed the ball really well tonight against the Rays and had good control as he only walked one batter and struckout eight others.

Matt Thornton, Octavio Dotel, and Boone Logan all threw one inning of scoreless relief to finish the game.

The Chicago White Sox picked up a nice win over the Cleveland Indians by the score of 4-1 on Tuesday night.  Jose Contreras outdueled C.C. Sabathia in a great pitching matchup that went the White Sox way this time.

Contreras pitched six innings while giving up four hits and one run to pick up the win.  Contreras is now 5-3 with a 3.17 era on the season.  Matt Thornton, Octavio Dotel, Scott Linebrink, and Bobby Jenks all combined to throw four scoreless innings to finish the game.  Jenks picked up his 11th save of the season as well in the game.

Carlos Quentin hit a solo home run in the first inning and then was followed by a solo home run by Jim Thome in the second inning.  Pablo Ozuna then had a rbi single in the eighth inning which was followed by a rbi groundout by Nick Swisher.

Joe Crede was ejected in the fourth inning when he aruged balls and strikes with the home plate umpire.

Jim Thome singled in A.J. Pierzynski for the go ahead run in the top of the ninth inning as the Chicago White Sox defeated the Los Angeles Angels 4-3 to salvage a sweep in the series.  Thome delivered a single off of Angels closer Francisco Rodriquez.  Maybe this will get Thome out his slump that he has been in lately.

Three other White Sox batters had a rbi in the game besides Thome.  Orlando Cabrera, Juan Uribe, and Pierzynski all had a rbi at the plate.

Octavio Dotel ended up getting the win which improved his record to 2-2 on the season and Bobby Jenks recorded the save which was his eighth. Starting pitcher Javier Vazquez tossed 6 2/3 innings while allowing nine hits and three runs.

The White Sox will now begin a series with the San Francisco Giants.  White Sox Blog

The Chicago White Sox only managed four hits against the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday night as they lost 1-0.  Matt Stairs hit a home run in the seventh inning off of Javier Vazquez for the lone run in the game.  I wonder how Ozzie is going to react to the media after his blowup this morning and then losing a close game like this lol.

Vasquez did toss 7 2/3 inning in the game while giving up the one run.  He did allow eight hits while striking out nine batters.  One mistake cost Vasquez and the White Sox tonight.

Juan Uribe had two of the White Sox hits in the game while Jim Thome and Toby Hall both had one hit each.  Bad performance by the White Sox hitters in the game.  Maybe it is time to take some extra batting practice or something…  They did mount a little rally in the ninth inning as they walked three times but struggled once again as they couldn’t push across one run to tie the game.
