The Chicago White Sox got off to a good start as they took on the Tampa Bay Rays Thursday night in the beginning of a four game series.  The White Sox were able to beat the Rays 5-1 as they out hit the Rays 11-7.

Paul Konerko and Joe Crede both hit home runs for the White Sox.  Both were solo shots in the sixth and eighth innings.  Carlos Quentin continued to hit the ball very good as he added another rbi for the White Sox.  Orlando Cabrera and Jim Thome also had one rbi for the Sox as they had a blanced scoring attack.

John Danks tossed six inning and allowed six hits and one run to pick up the win for the White Sox.  Danks is now 4-4 on the season.  He really tossed the ball really well tonight against the Rays and had good control as he only walked one batter and struckout eight others.

Matt Thornton, Octavio Dotel, and Boone Logan all threw one inning of scoreless relief to finish the game.

The Chicago White Sox picked up a nice win over the Cleveland Indians by the score of 4-1 on Tuesday night.  Jose Contreras outdueled C.C. Sabathia in a great pitching matchup that went the White Sox way this time.

Contreras pitched six innings while giving up four hits and one run to pick up the win.  Contreras is now 5-3 with a 3.17 era on the season.  Matt Thornton, Octavio Dotel, Scott Linebrink, and Bobby Jenks all combined to throw four scoreless innings to finish the game.  Jenks picked up his 11th save of the season as well in the game.

Carlos Quentin hit a solo home run in the first inning and then was followed by a solo home run by Jim Thome in the second inning.  Pablo Ozuna then had a rbi single in the eighth inning which was followed by a rbi groundout by Nick Swisher.

Jim Thome singled in A.J. Pierzynski for the go ahead run in the top of the ninth inning as the Chicago White Sox defeated the Los Angeles Angels 4-3 to salvage a sweep in the series.  Thome delivered a single off of Angels closer Francisco Rodriquez.  Maybe this will get Thome out his slump that he has been in lately.

Three other White Sox batters had a rbi in the game besides Thome.  Orlando Cabrera, Juan Uribe, and Pierzynski all had a rbi at the plate.

Octavio Dotel ended up getting the win which improved his record to 2-2 on the season and Bobby Jenks recorded the save which was his eighth. Starting pitcher Javier Vazquez tossed 6 2/3 innings while allowing nine hits and three runs.

The White Sox will now begin a series with the San Francisco Giants.  White Sox Blog

The Chicago White Sox only managed four hits against the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday night as they lost 1-0.  Matt Stairs hit a home run in the seventh inning off of Javier Vazquez for the lone run in the game.  I wonder how Ozzie is going to react to the media after his blowup this morning and then losing a close game like this lol.

Vasquez did toss 7 2/3 inning in the game while giving up the one run.  He did allow eight hits while striking out nine batters.  One mistake cost Vasquez and the White Sox tonight.

Juan Uribe had two of the White Sox hits in the game while Jim Thome and Toby Hall both had one hit each.  Bad performance by the White Sox hitters in the game.  Maybe it is time to take some extra batting practice or something…  They did mount a little rally in the ninth inning as they walked three times but struggled once again as they couldn’t push across one run to tie the game.

The Chicago White Sox lost another close game to the Minnesota Twins as they lost 4-3 on Wednesday afternoon.  The White Sox really need to get back on track after losing the last two games to the Twins.  The White Sox are now 14-12 on the season and if they don’t turn things around soon, thye are going to find themselves under .500 in my opinion.

Starting pitcher Nick Masset went four innings in the game and gave up five hits and three runs.  Masset got the no decision in the game.  Ehren Wassermann ended up pitching only .1 of an inning as he gave up the game winning run in the seventh inning to the Twins to take the loss.

Carlos Quentin had a solo home run in the fourth inning for the White Sox for their big hit on the day.  Jim Thome did get the Sox on the board first however with a RBI double in the first inning.  In the fifth inning, Nick Swisher picked up a RBI on a single to right field.

The White Sox will be off on Thursday and then will start a series with the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday.

Joe Crede delivered the game winning hit that gave the Chicago White Sox a 7-6 victory over the New York Yankees on Thursday night.  Crede singled to center field off Joba Chamberlain in the bottom of the ninth inning that scored Carlos Quentin from second base.

Besides Crede’s one RBI, six other White Sox hitters contributed with an RBI each.  Jim Thome, Paul Konerko, Jermaine Dye, A.J. Pierzynski, Alexei Ramirez, and Quentin all had a RBI in the game.  Thome’s RBI came on a solo home run in the fifth inning.

Bobby Jenks picked up the win for the White Sox as he recorded the final two outs in the ninth inning.  Gavin Floyd had started for the White Sox and pitched six innings as he gave up five hits and five runs.  Floyd struckout four batters but also walked four batters.  Matt Thornton was the only White Sox relief pitcher to give up a run in the game.

The Chicago White Sox shut out the Tampa Bay Rays 6-0 on Sunday putting Chicago at 11-7 for the season.  Chicago got the scoring off to an early start with runs in the first inning and didn’t let up the offense or defense throughout the entire game to hold Tampa Bay to no runs and only four hits.

The Chicago White Sox started John Danks to get things rolling and kept him in for seven full innings.  Boone Logan was brought in to close the game giving up only 1 hit in the final two innings of the game.

Jim Thome got his fifth home run of the season and his fourth double also putting him up to 16 RBIs.  But he wasn’t the only White Sox batter driving in runs.  Jermaine Dye got his first triple of the season and picked up an RBI as well.  A.J. Pierzynski picked up an RBI in the game too.

With the White Sox moving on to take on the Yankees on Tuesday at home.  Will they be able to keep the hits coming?

Jim Thome came off his one game suspension and hit a three-run home run to defeat the Baltimore Orioles by the score of 3-1.  The home run came in the first inning, and the White Sox pitching staff made those three runs hold up for the White Sox ninth win of the season.

Jose Contreras picked up the win for the White Sox.  Contrereas pitched seven innings and gave up four hits and only one earned run.  Great win for Contreras who pitched very good.  Scott Linebrink pitched the eigth inning before Bobby Jenks picked up his sixth save of the season in the ninth inning.

I would have liked to see the White Sox score more runs, but give them credit for making the three runs hold up.

The Chicago White Sox and Oakland Athletics played in a low scoring chilly ballgame on Monday night and the Athletics came out on top by the score of 2-1. Mark Buehrle was outdueled by Greg Smith in the game.

Buehrle did pitch seven innings giving up nine hits and two earned runs.  He pitched well enough to win the game, the bats for the White Sox just weren’t giving him any run support.  Buehrle’s record now drops to 1-1 on the season.

Pretty much the only offense for the White Sox was an RBI ground out by Jim Thome in the 6th inning.  Other then that, the White Sox did nothing on offense.
