The Chicago White Sox evened up the three game series with the Texas Rangers with a 10-2 pounding on Tuesday night.  It was a great performance by the hitters and the pitchers in the game as they evened up the three game series at one game each.

Mark Buehrle improved to 8-8 on the season after he picked up the victory.  Buehrle tossed 7 1/3 innings as he gave up six hits and one run.  Great outing by Buehrle who finally picked up another win.  Nick Masset gave up three hits and one run in only one third of inning once he came in for Buehrle however.  Matt Thornton recorded one out and then Scott Linebrink pitched a scoreless ninth inning to finish off the Rangers in the 9th inning.

Alexei Ramirez hit a grand slam to lead the White Sox at the plate with four rbi.  Nick Swisher hit a three run home run to finish with three rbi while A.J. Pierzynski and Jermaine Dye both finished the game with one rbi each.  The two bombs by Ramirez and Swisher really propelled the Sox to the big victory.

So can the White Sox get a series victory on Wednesday afternoon?  Leave us a comment and let us know!

The Chicago White Sox and Kansas City Royals didn’t want to stop playing last night it seemed.  After going into extra innings, the White Sox scored two runs in the 11th inning by the Royals answered back with two runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning.  Finally the White Sox scored a run in the 13th inning and the Royals had no answer as the White Sox won 8-7.

Orlando Cabrera and a rbi double that scored Alexei Ramirez for the game winning run in the 13th inning.  In the 11th inning it was A.J Pierzynski who had a two run sac fly.  Yeah both runners scored on a sac fly!  Joe Crede, Nick Swisher, and Pierzynski all finished the game with two rbi each.  Paul Konerko and Cabrera both chipped in with one rbi each.

White Sox starting pitcher Jose Contreras pitched 5 2/3 innings as he gave up ten hits and five runs.  Contreras had some problems in the second and third innings which really hurt his performance.  The Royals scored three times in the second inning, and then another run in the third inning.  The Royals weren’t done with Contreras however as he was charged with another run in the sixth inning.

Scott Linebrink was the only White Sox relief pitcher that was charged with a run.  Linebrink gave up both runs in the bottom of the 11th inning when they Sox were trying to win the game.  Nick Masset ended up being the winner in the game is now 1-0.  Masset threw two scoreless innings of relief to get the win.

It was the second straight night where the Chicago White Sox beat the Cleveland Indians with a walk off home run as A.J. Pierzynski took Masa Kobayashi deep in the bottom of the tenth inning and the White Sox defeated the Indians by the score of 6-5.

The walk off shot was Pierzynski’s second home run of the game as he also had a solo shot in the first inning.  Jermaine Dye also had a solo home run in the first inning.   Brian Anderson had a two run double in the seventh inning and Nick Swisher also had a rbi single in the second inning for the White Sox.

Adam Russell picked up the win and is now 2-0.  Russell had the chance to get the win after Scott Linebrink blew the save in the ninth inning when he gave up a home run to Grady Sizemore that tied the game at 5-5.  Jose Contreras pitched six innings and gave up six hits and four runs including one home run.  Contreras struck out six batters while walking four as he got the no decision in the game.

The White Sox will now open up a four game series with the Oakland Athletics on Thursday.

Mark Buehrle pitched eight strong innings and the Chicago White Sox were able to defeat the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-1 and snap their road losing streak.  Buehrle was dominate in the game as he only allowed six hits and one run, (which was a home run) while striking out two.  Buehrle is now 5-6 on the season.

Scott Linebrink pitched ninth inning and had no problems at all.  The White Sox didn’t need to use closer Bobby Jenks as they were up five runs in the ninth inning.

Jermaine Dye had a two run home run to lead the White Sox at the plate.  Dye took Derek Lowe deep in the eighth inning.  Nick Swisher, Dewayne Wise, and Alexei Ramirez all had one rbi in the game as well.

Good win for the White Sox on the road as they beat a quality Dodger team.  And any time you beat Lowe you are doing some good things at the plate.  The White Sox will try to go up 2-0 in the series on Wednesday night.

The Chicago White Sox finished off the Pittsburgh Pirates with a 13-8 victory on Thursday afternoon.  With the nice 13-8 win, the White Sox swept the Pirates in their three game interleage series.  I don’t think Pittsburgh will ever want to come back to Chicago the way they have gotten beat by the White Sox and the Cubs.

Gavin Floyd earned the win for the White Sox and is now 8-3.  Floyd didn’t have his best stuff but it was enough to pitch  5 2/3 innings.  Floyd allowed six hits and seven runs in the game.  He did allow one home run while striking out six batters and walking two.

Matt Thornton, Octavio Dotel, and Scott Linebrink all pitched well after Floyd left the game.  However in the ninth inning, relief pitcher Adam Russell gave up two hits and one run before finally getting the last out of the game.

Jermaine Dye went 3-6 with two home runs and six rbi to lead the White Sox at the plate.  It was a monster performance out of Dye as you can see with his six rbi and two home runs.  Orlando Cabrera also swung a good bat as he had a three run home run and a sacrafice fly to finish with four rbi in the game.  Jim Thome, Pablo Ozuna, and Alexei Ramirez all finished the game with one rbi each.

Good hitting, and just enough pitching got the White Sox past the Pirates.  Now they can sit back and relax until tomorrow afternoon when they start up the heated rivalry with the Cubs.  The Cubs do have to fly back to Chicago after their game tonight with the Tampa Bay Rays so they just might be a little tired tomorrow afternoon.

Nick Swisher and Paul Konerko both hit home runs for the White Sox.  Konerko had a two run shot in the seventh inning and Swisher had solo home run earlier in the game in the fourth inning.  Swisher finished the game with three rbi while Konerko was right behind him with two rbi.  Carlos Quentin and Jermaine Dye both had one rbi as well for the White Sox.

The Cleveland Indians sure made things interseting in the bottom of the ninth inning but the Chicago White Sox held on to beat the the Indians by the score of 6-5.  The game tying run was on third base and the game winning run on second base for the Indians with one out before Bobby Jenks was finally able to get the last two outs of the game for the White Sox.

Jenks picked up his 14th save in the game.  Starting pitcher Gavin Floyd got the win to improve his record to 5-3.  Floyd threw six inning and gave up eight hits and five runs.  Floyd also had seven strikeouts in the game.

The White Sox will now start up a series with the Tampa Bay Rays.  The Rays have been playing some good baseball so the White Sox are going to really have to come to play.

The Chicago White Sox beat the Cleveland Indians 3-1 on Thursday night as they completed a three game sweep of the Indians.  With the three wins over the Indians, the White Sox are now in first place by 3.5 games in the Central Division.

Carlos Quentin led the White Sox at the plate as he had two rbi in the game.  Quentin had a rbi groundout in the first inning and then a rbi single in the eighth inning.  Jermaine Dye also had a rbi single in the eighth inning for the White Sox.

White Sox starting pitcher Mark Buehrle tossed seven strong inning while only giving up two hits and one run.  It is really a shame that he came away in the game with a no decision.  Scott Linebrink pitched the eighth inning as he picked up the win which was his first of the season.  Bobby Jenks pitched a scoreless ninth inning to get his 12th save of the season.

Great series for the White Sox as the really moved up in the standing.  They will try to continue the good baseball on Friday when they begin a series with the Los Angeles Angels.
