The Chicago White Sox offense was shut down by Jered Weaver and the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday night. The White Sox only had one hit of Weaver in seven innings of action, and then got a couple of hits off the Angeles bullpen but it wasn’t enough as the White Sox lost 2-0.
Carlos Quentin, A.J. Pierzynski, and Joe Crede were the only White Sox players to record a hit in the game.
John Danks pitched 6 1/3 innings while giving up seven hits and no runs. Octavio Dotel took the loss as he pitched 2/3 of an inning and gave up the first run of the game in the eighth inning on a sac fly. Matt Thornton then came into the game and gave up one more run on a single in the eighth inning.
One bad inning on the mound for Dotel and Thornton, combined with only three hits for the White Sox and you see why the Sox lost to the Angels. White Sox Blog hopes the Sox can turn things around and get a win on Wednesday!
