The Chicago White Sox were going for the three game sweep against the Kansas City Royals with Mark Buehrle on the mound but they were unable to get the sweep as they lost a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning and went onto lose the game by the score of 4-1. It was definately not the way most White Sox fans seen this game turning out.
Buehrle tossed 7 1/3 innings and gave up six hits and two runs to take the loss. Buehrle is now 6-8 on the year. That is one dissappointing loss for the White Sox and Buehrle as they had things going good up until the bottom of that eighth inning. After Buehrle was charged with two runs, Octavio Dotel gave up a rbi double and was taken out of the game. Boone Logan then came in and gave up a two run inside the park home run to Mark Teahen. One of those runs was charged to Dotel and the other to Logan.
I can’t put all the blame on the bullpen because the White Sox offense struggled against the Royals pitching staff. The only run for the White Sox came in the fourth inning when Jermaine Dye hit a solo home run. The White Sox struck out 10 times and left 12 runners on base so right there is why they only scored one run and lost the game.
The White Sox still took two out of three on the road against the Royals so you can’t be to upset. They will now start a three game series against the Texas Rangers on Friday.
