The Chicago White Sox packed Nick Swisher’s bags for him on Thursday as they shipped him off to the New York Yankees in exchange for three players. The White Sox will be getting infielder Wilson Betemit and minor league pitchers Jeff Marquez and Jhonny Nunez. Besides Swisher going to New York, minor league pitcher Kanekoa Texeira will also be going along in the trade to the Yankees.
Swisher hit .219 with 24 home runs in 153 games with Chicago this season but never really got into a grove like they White Sox had hoped when they got him from the Oakland A’s.
Marquez, was a supplemental first-round draft pick by the Yankees out of Sacramento City College in 2004. He posted a 43-40 record and a 3.60 ERA in five minor league seasons with New York.
Texeira was 6-3 with 21 saves and a 1.33 ERA in 51 combined relief appearances with Class A Winston-Salem and Double-A Birmingham, ranking second among White Sox minor leaguers in saves. Betemit hit .265 with 13 doubles, six home runs and 25 RBI in 87 games with the Yankees in 2008, making starts at all four infield positions.

Overall I like this trade for the Sox as they picked up three decent players. Betemit can play right now for the Sox and probably put up similiar numbers that Swisher did and the Sox dumped his huge contract off onto the Yankees.
What do you say Sox fans?
